Can I use Scribble on my phone?

Yes. The whole business app works on a phone in any browser — sending, tracking, contacts, campaigns, automations, credits and settings. You can also add it to your home screen, where it opens full screen with its own icon and stays signed in.

On this page

There is one Scribble, and it fits whatever you open it on. A phone gets a row of tabs along the bottom — Overview, Send, Sent, Contacts and More — instead of the sidebar a laptop shows, and the card you are writing stays on screen above the words while you type them. Nothing is missing and nothing is read-only: a campaign scheduled on a phone at an airport is the same campaign.

#Put it on your home screen

Worth 30 seconds. It opens full screen with no address bar, keeps you signed in, and sits next to your other apps rather than three taps into a browser.

  1. Open the app in your phone's browser

Go to scribblecards.com/app and sign in.

  2. On iPhone or iPad, use the Share button

Tap the Share icon in Safari's toolbar, scroll down, and choose Add to Home Screen. It has to be Safari — Chrome on iOS cannot install web apps.

You’ll know it worked when A Scribble icon appears on your home screen.

  3. On Android, take the offer

Chrome shows an Install button on the Overview screen. If you dismissed it, use the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

You’ll know it worked when A Scribble icon appears in your app drawer.

  4. On a Mac or PC, install it too

Chrome and Edge show an install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar. It gives Scribble its own window in your dock or taskbar, with no tabs around it.

#What it does with no signal

It says so. Every figure in the app is live — a credit balance, a card's position in the post — and showing you a remembered one would be worse than showing you none. Nothing sends itself either: a card only enters production when you press the button, so a dropped connection cannot post anything on your behalf.

#Is there an App Store version?

Not yet. Adding it to your home screen gets you the same thing today — the same screens, the same icon, full screen — and it updates itself, so you are never a version behind.

#Common questions

Do I need a different account for my phone?
No. It is the same account, the same organization and the same credit balance. A card sent from a phone shows up on a laptop immediately.
Can I write a card on a phone and finish it later on a laptop?
Yes. Save and close on the send screen keeps the draft against your account rather than the device, so you can pick it up anywhere.
Will it use much data?
Very little. The heaviest thing on any screen is the proof of the card, which is drawn by your phone from the same instructions the plotter uses rather than downloaded as a picture.
