What goes on the inside of a Scribble card?
The merged message is written on the right-hand inside panel. The inside editor lets you add fixed text around it — a standing line, a signature, a company name — and it draws the reserved message area so nothing gets placed underneath it. Everything on the inside is written in pen, not printed.

The pen cannot write right to the edge: 9 mm at the top and bottom of the spread is the machine's grip zone. That leaves a writable band 122 mm tall, and the message box itself is 88 mm wide, with 10 mm of margin each side of the right-hand panel so the handwriting does not start hard against the fold.
#What the inside editor is for
Furniture, not content. Place text, position it, and get out. There is no freehand drawing and no per-card message text, because the message somebody types into a design is not the message that gets written — that comes from the campaign or the rule, merged per recipient.
#How much message fits
The message composer checks your words against the space on the card and adjusts the handwriting to fit. A short note keeps a natural writing size and leaves some paper blank. If the message still overflows at the smallest supported size, you need to shorten it. The millimeter readout describes the lowercase body; capitals and long strokes are taller. See handwriting size.
The hard limit is 500 characters, everywhere: the campaign composer and the automation form stop you typing past it, and the API rejects anything longer with message_too_long. In practice a comfortable card is 250 to 400 characters — 500 is the ceiling, not a target, and merge fields only ever make a message longer.
