Terms of service

Last updated August 9, 2026

These are the terms between you and Devon Oak LLC, trading as Scribble, of 5900 Balcones Dr STE 100, Austin, TX 78731, United States. Using the service means agreeing to them. They are written to be read.

What we do

You give us a message and an address. A machine holding a real pen writes the card and the envelope, we stamp it and hand it to USPS. Everything on the card is written in ink by a machine — nothing is printed handwriting, and we do not claim a human wrote it.

Your account

  • You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything an API key or a connected AI assistant does with it.
  • Keep your keys secret. If one leaks, revoke it in Integrations — that is immediate and it is yours to do.
  • One person may hold several organizations; each has its own credits, and they do not pool.

Credits

  • One credit sends one card, including US postage. The per-credit price falls with the quantity bought in a single purchase.
  • Credits are bought in advance and do not expire.
  • A credit is spent when a card is accepted for production. A card we cancel before it reaches a machine returns its credit; a card already being written does not.
  • Credits have no cash value and are not refundable once spent. Unspent credits can be refunded within 30 days of purchase if you ask.

What we will not write

We will refuse, and refund the credit, for anything that:

  • threatens, harasses, intimidates or stalks the recipient
  • is unlawful where it is sent, or promotes something unlawful
  • impersonates a real person or organization in order to deceive
  • is a deceptive commercial offer, a scam, or a fake invoice
  • contains sexual content involving minors, or incites violence or hatred
  • infringes someone's copyright or trademark

We do not read every card. These are the grounds on which we act when something is reported or noticed, and a repeated breach ends the account.

Cancelling a card

A card can be cancelled while it is still waiting for a machine, and the credit comes back. Once it is being written it cannot be recalled or refunded, because there is no operation that un-writes a card. This applies however the card was sent — from the app, from the API, or through a connected AI assistant.

Delivery

We quote an arrival window, never an exact day, and we mean it: the last leg is USPS and we do not control it. We are responsible for a card being written correctly and posted on time. We are not responsible for the post being slow, and a card that arrives late through no fault of ours is not refundable. If we made the mistake, we rewrite and resend it free.

Your content

Your messages, artwork and contact lists remain yours. You give us only the permission needed to write, print and post them, and to keep the records described in the privacy policy. You confirm you have the right to send to the addresses you upload.

Our service

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise a specific uptime. We may change features; we will not remove something you depend on without telling you first.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost business, or lost opportunity. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.

Ending it

You can close your account whenever you like; unspent credits bought in the last 30 days are refundable. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will say why. Cards already in production still go out unless you cancel them.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and the courts of Travis County, Texas have jurisdiction.
