Writes about direct mail, sales outreach and campaign measurement

Jeremy Page writes the business half of the Scribble blog. That means direct mail strategy, cold outreach, client retention, and the unglamorous mechanics of getting a piece of paper into somebody's hand at the moment it will matter to them.

He has spent more than a decade around direct mail and content strategy, through the stretch when everyone declared physical mail dead and the stretch after that, when marketers noticed their email open rates falling and started looking at the letterbox again. He writes as a practitioner rather than an analyst: campaigns he has run, numbers he has watched, and the difference between a handwritten note that gets answered and one that goes in the bin.

He has one rule that shapes most of what he publishes here. If a statistic cannot be traced to a named source, it does not go in the post. The handwritten mail industry is full of impressive figures with nobody's name attached to them, and he would rather write a shorter piece than repeat one.
