~ written, always ~

Business sympathy cards

This is the one card that has to be handwritten. We write it in real ink and post it, usually within a day of you asking.

  • A real pen, not a font
  • $6.99 one card, $2.45 at volume
  • US postage included
  • Your logo and signature inside

Sympathy designs

Quiet fronts. No logo goes on the outside of these.

We're still drawing this one.

We do send this card. There is just no artwork of ours for it yet, so today it goes out on your own design. Talk to us about it.

Or put your own artwork on it

Most companies do. Upload a print-ready PNG, JPG, PDF or TIFF in the app, at 108 × 140mm, and it becomes a card you can send the same day. No approval step and no setup fee, and it costs the same as one of ours.

~ why it works ~

The card where printing is not an option

There are sends where a printed message is fine. A holiday card is fine printed. This is not one of them, and everybody who receives one knows the difference immediately.

It is also the one card a company most often gets wrong by sending nothing, because nobody wants to write it. That is understandable and it is still worse than an imperfect card.

We would leave the logo off entirely. Sign it from the people who knew them.

~ how it happens ~

How to send one

There is no automation here and there should not be. This is a card somebody decides to send.

1

Write it yourself

Short is fine. Say the person's name and one true thing. Do not attempt a silver lining.

2

Leave the branding off

Turn off the logo and the standing line for this one. It reads badly on a sympathy card.

3

Sign it individually

From the manager, the account lead, the team. Not from the company.

4

We write and post it fast

It goes into the day's run and into the post. $6.99, US postage included.

Works with HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Zapier, Make, n8n and webhooks. Anything else with an API, we will build it free of charge.

~ the hard part ~

What to write in a business sympathy card

Do not write anything with the word "journey" in it. Name them, say one honest sentence, stop.

  • To a colleague who has lost a parentThe inside of a handwritten card reading: Ray, I was so sorry to hear about your dad. Take whatever time you need. We have it covered. Marcus
  • To a clientThe inside of a handwritten card reading: Alison, I was very sorry to hear your news. Nothing on our side is urgent. Please put us last. Sam
  • When you knew the personThe inside of a handwritten card reading: Dev, I am so sorry. I worked with Marie for two years and I still think about how she ran a meeting. Nina
  • To an employee after a lossThe inside of a handwritten card reading: Grace, Thinking of you. There is no deadline on any of this. Call me if there is anything at all. Ray
  • ShortThe inside of a handwritten card reading: So sorry for your loss, Tom. Thinking of you and your family. Dana

Copy any of these. Change the name and the one detail only you would know, and it sounds like you wrote it. That is the whole job: short, specific, no sales pitch. Every card above is a different handwriting in real ink, and on a real send your CRM fills in the names, so four thousand cards say four thousand different things.

~ what it costs ~

The more you send, the less each one costs

One credit buys one card, written and posted, US stamp included. Credits get bought when you have something to send and they do not expire. There is no monthly fee and no minimum order.

Opening one takes about two minutes and costs nothing until you buy credits. Sending more than ten thousand, or need a contract and an invoice? Talk to sales.

~ questions ~

Business sympathy cards, answered

How quickly can a sympathy card go out?

It joins the same day's writing run if you send it in the morning, then it is normal US mail. For this one, sooner matters more than the design.

Should we put our company logo on it?

No, and you can switch it off for a single card. A sympathy card with branding inside reads as marketing, which is the last thing you want here.

Can we automate these?

You should not, and we would rather you did not. Every other card on this site can run off a trigger. This one is a decision a person makes.

What does it cost?

$6.99 for a single card, with the envelope, the writing and the US stamp included.
